I came across a post on google groups that mentioned a crack of Tumble Bugs, and checking asimov under images/games/action/
there it is:

FWIW, I found an old crack of Tumble Bugs I had done way back when, and have uploaded it to Asimov for preservation. Why? Well, it's 'Tumble Bugs', not 'Dung Beetles', it's a small file version, the original title screen is intact and untouched, and there's no crack screen on it. IIRC, the 'Dung Beetles' version either lacks the title screen, or has been modified (plus the name is different). It's nice game from Bob Bishop.

Anyway, as I continue to rummage through stuff, I thought it might be of interest. The title screen is fun at least."

Here's one of my favorite games of all time: Stampede. I didn't know there was another version of it until I was browsing the softlists. It's surprising that this game didn't get more travel to other systems.

a2600:

./mame64 a2600 -cart stampede

[Linked Image]

intellivision:
(virtually identical but only has 4 cattle tracks instead of 6 on the a2600)
./mame64 intv -cart stampede

And an ersatz Atari 800 version from Analog Computing #13 (page 76) that looks remarkably familiar.
https://archive.org/details/analog-computing-magazine-13/

./mame64 a800 -flop1 '../Round Up (19xx)(Compute!)[k-file].zip'

(for some reason I can only lasso, I can't move up and down)

Not to gripe without adding anything, but just a small request: When taking screenshots, please use -snapsize 640x480 or -snapsize 480x640 depending on the expected orientation and aspect of the screen. A lot of the screenshots I'm seeing are unrealistically stretched due to the default behavior of taking snapshots which assume 1:1 square pixels.

It's getting hotter here were I live, so naturally I did a comparsion of Winter Games. Mini personal story here in that this was one of the games that made me check out Mac emulation in MESS years ago, first handle chds. etc.
I also did some pixel doubling for some aspect ratio improvement, which isn't quite what JD requested, but I'd like to keep square pixel shots for other purposes. Also can't use Imgur since a few days, I've just used a random alternative now.

PC-88: Should be the only Japanese computer port. Summer Games was also available for the 88 series.
[Linked Image]

Atari 2600: This version is cut and you can't choose the order of events to play.
[Linked Image]

Atari 7800: Looks obviously much better, but is also cut - only four events.

Nes/FDS. Seem to be the same, both in terms of looks and (lack of) content.

FM-Towns driver is very buggy, for Chase H.Q. it is only able to show the attract demo with lots of glitches (I'm not even sure, if it's OK to post the glitchy screens here):

In general we don't post broken screens on here, but maybe Carl can fix it after seeing this? Looks like it's maybe doing some VGA tricks we don't quite support.

Well, I can only say that UNZ (FM-Towns Emulator) has a special video option for this game ("Enable special drawing for CHASE H.Q."), so there should be something unusual about this particulal title.
