I think I *almost* got everything with Prince of Persia, at least the official ports. The Amiga version doesn't want to cooperate, though. smirk

have you tried a cracked copy of PoP for the Amiga, and made sure to try with the different models? The driver compatibility with original copy protected software is not great.

also there was an official PoP demo on the Spectrum (the full game was never released) and an unofficial Russian release of the game for the TR-DOS based 'spectrum' systems some years later.

Yeah, forgot about that. The cracked version works:

Might wanna enter that SAM Coupe crash on MAMETesters. It's a pretty simple machine so someone oughta be able to fix it fairly easily.

not *that* simple.

it's similar to the ZX Spectrum in some senses (and even has a level of compatibility with spectrum software)

but other than that it's waitstate and banking hell at the very least.

also some horribly unreliable / buggy versions of the firmware and different possible machine configs to fuck with things.

would be nice if the tape image we have softlisted actually worked too, assuming it isn't a bad dump, finding originals to softlist is practically impossible tho as the system bombed.

I think Prince of Persia used to work in the SDF format disk image. Support for that format was removed in MAME (it was just a temporary format anyway, only Lemmings and PoP were available). However, there should be EDSK format disk images for it.

Because the rules were apparently not made clear enough:

1) All screenshots must be from MAME only. I had hoped the title and general premise of the thread made that clear. I was wrong.

2) If you have problems running a game for a specific system in MAME, feel free to note that in your post.

3) If official ports of a game exist for a system not emulated in MAME, feel free to note that as well.

4) The thread is not for tech support, trivia, or discussion of the games shown. If you feel compelled to discuss, share anecdotes about, or troubleshoot a game, you're welcome to start a different post. You can even steal screenshots from here if you need to.

4A) You may include links to interesting information about the game (e.g. Wikipedia or HG101 or TAFA or whatever) as part of the post with the screenshots.

5) UBB.threads (the software powering this site) has a limit of 10 images per post, so be careful. If you start seeing raw IMG tags instead of pictures, you've probably hit the limit. Prolific games may require 2 or more posts; that's totally allowed.

My concept here was to show off MAME, and in particular the many cool things the MESS merger made possible, in a fun way. Let's try that again, please.
