I've looked high and low on the web and on these forums but can't figure out what I might be doing wrong.

The machine list will show a light green icon for "Correct" found roms just fine (and show other colors where appropriate) but the software list always shows blue no matter what I do. I've tried clearing all the caches and re-processing everything, ending up with the same result.

When I analyze anything from the software list (or the entire software list) for a console I have all roms for (like coleco, intv, a2600, a5200, a7800, etc) it says that they were found and file status is good (all light green text) and expanding shows the checksums match, so it's not a search path problem (and I've checked that over really well.) And such software roms launch just fine too when double clicked.

I'm using the 0.183 version of qmc2.

Thanks for any help.

There's a menu attached to the tool- and toggle-button with the ROM icon (above the software-list). You have to enable it (click once so it's down/on), then click-hold the same icon to open the attached menu... the short-cut for checking software-states is F10, but it will only work when software-state checking is enabled (I think that's the default).

See this section in the wiki.

We're searching for QMC2 translators and support for existing translations. Interested? See here!

@qmc2 Thank you very much, that did it. smile I guess I'm still getting used to state checking being separate from analyzing, where as in the likes of classic MAMEUI you just clicked "audit" and that was enough to reveal it's status in the list.

And thanks for the link; I have been reading this exact guide but it seems I had missed that part. I'll be reading this more.
