I didn't have much luck booting townsos from the HDD but dos was also broken and the latest change fixes it.

Awesome smile And it's not stupid, it's one of the FMT gems.

I got one yesterday including the harddisk and the complete loot you can see on that picture. This will be a busy weekend smile

That's awesome and seems to be in great condition too.

Looks like it's in beautiful condition. A DOS compatible with a 68000 coprocessor, and basically none of the usual PC support chips in the "right places"? Should be fun.

It was a figure of speech, obviously. smile I quite like it, kind of a predecessor to the Monkey Ball games. And I think the "Micomsoft mode" levels are exclusive to the Towns version so it's pretty interesting.

BTW, here are some high quality scans (600 dpi) of everything that's in the box (and some other Japanese computer games if you go up a directory):

Seems there's something going on with the fmtowns driver still. Using this commandline:
Code
fmtowns -cdrom "k:\Towns System Software v2.1L51 (1995)(Fujitsu)(JP).bin" -hard1 g:\mame\fmtos.chd -window

I get the following after the ram test:

IIRC that happens if you try to mount a raw (2352 bytes per sector) BIN file directly, which is probably what you have there. If you have an accompanying CUE file you should use that instead... or you can just use the CHDs from the software list since it's all curated and tested.

Silly me. Turns out I was trying to mount a floppy image as a cdrom. Thanks.
