Now that MacMAME has passed into history I'm considering closing this forum to new posts in favour of the separate MAME OS X board above. I will leave it present as an archive for at least the next year, but no new replies/topics will be permitted.

Your comments please.

I have no problem with that. I think it's just as well to close it.

And I've been meaning to mention that I should be removed as a moderator from these boards, since I'm rarely here anymore.

Thanks Richard - for providing a home for the MacMAME Board for all this time.

- Nathan

It makes sense to close the forum. MacMAME really is dead and buried, I guess. But it's still hard to let go. The mention of the forum closing makes me sad.

How about just put up one last post and lock the entire forum? That way, it can still be searched, linked to, etc. Seems less harsh and preserves links, searchability, and internet history. Maybe put it under an "Archives" section on the front page, too.

Yeah. The forum topic should be changed as well since MAME OS X is the "official" Mac port for normal users.

The only value MacMAME has for me is that I can still roll my own version of MacMAME for unofficial games. I have yet to figure out how to do that for MAME OS X.

And we have the end of an era. This forum was closed off on March 1st, 2008.

Thanks for the memories.
