I´m thinking on a way to sort/view/hide games by genre on the MAME variant of QMC2.

You can aleady sort / view games by category (genre) when using AntoPISA's catver.ini file. You can't hide them, though.

It´s not the same. If I have more time, I will tell you more details.
A hide feature is now useful after the pinball/fruit machines flood.

Yeah, do this... because I can't see your point right now smile.

Well, if it's just a matter of hiding / showing specific categories... that could be done (in the next release).

Where was it again that you can force QMC2 to use mess.ini instead of its own internal settings? Thanks -

After compiling the QMC2, which files and DLLs needed to run the same? And another, the MESS and its archives, where I put? It may be in the data folder of QMC2? Guys, if you can help me I thank you, because I always had questions about these issues.

Which QMC2 add-on do you use to compile QMC2?

the MESS and its archives

What do you mean? All MESS specific folders you can set in the Options.

I used this one to do the compilation: mingw-mame-w64-QMC2-add-on-20110905. Even by setting options, so it is not finding the folder as the folder ico hash. Is something configured wrong?

1.) Ahh OK, you use René´s package, it´s not my QMC2 add-on. smile
Check his builds to find out which files are required to run QMC2.
Then copy the needed files from your Mingw/Qt folder in your QMC2 folder incl. subfolders.
Do not mix the MingW build files with his official VC++ build files. They are different.

2.) Tools > Options... > Frontend > File/Directories
Set the path for the icon folder, example: data/ico/icons.zip
OK
