SVN r3871: added project type ExtractCD ('chdman extractcd') to qchdman. It may not be perfect yet (i.e. the output varies from the type of --output you pass to it; <output>.toc seems to be most useful, I had issues with <output>.cue, but it basically worked as well).

@Anna: I will integrate the qchdman binary in the QMC2 binary packages when it's time to do so... well, yes, the word 'standalone' makes it clearer. But I would add 'incomplete WIP' also smile.

Just tried using a .toc file I created through ExtractCD with CreateCD to reproduce a CHD, but CHDMAN has problems with the paths in the .toc:

Code:
rene@thunder:~/tmp/qchdman-output> /home/rene/src/mess-svn/chdman createcd --input test.toc --output test.chd --force
chdman - MAME Compressed Hunks of Data (CHD) manager 0.145u8 (May 15 2012)
Output CHD:   /home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.chd
Input file:   /home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.toc
Input tracks: 73
Input length: 65:44:63
Compression: cdlz (CD LZMA), cdzl (CD Deflate), cdfl (CD FLAC)
Logical size: 724,568,832
Error opening input file (/home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output//home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.bin)'
Error during compression: read error

It automatically prepends the absolute path of the .bin file which it apparently assumes to be a relative path!?

The .toc includes the absolute paths:

Code:
CD_ROM

// Track 1
TRACK MODE1_RAW RW_RAW
NO COPY
DATAFILE "/home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.bin" 01:55:61 // length in bytes: 21263328

// Track 2
TRACK AUDIO RW_RAW
NO COPY
NO PRE_EMPHASIS
TWO_CHANNEL_AUDIO
DATAFILE "/home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.bin" #21263328 00:36:00 // length in bytes: 6609600

// Track 3
TRACK AUDIO RW_RAW
NO COPY
NO PRE_EMPHASIS
TWO_CHANNEL_AUDIO
DATAFILE "/home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.bin" #27872928 00:20:41 // length in bytes: 3772368
...

That's odd, it shouldn't ever put the full path in the .toc unless you specified the full path on the command line.

If both files toc/bin, cue/bin are in the same folder it should be enough to use the file name only.
If necessary, you can edit the toc/cue files by hand.

DATAFILE "test.bin"

I specified the full path in both cases (extract & create, just shortened the command line in the example above)... I guess that ExtractCD is OK, it's CreateCD which does something weird here.

FWIW, it's mostly the same when I let ExtractCD create a .cue and use this for --input on CreateCD:

Code:
rene@thunder:~/tmp/qchdman-output> /home/rene/src/mess-svn/chdman createcd --input /home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.cue --output /home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.chd --force
chdman - MAME Compressed Hunks of Data (CHD) manager 0.145u8 (May 15 2012)
trk 1: 8686 frames @ offset 0
trk 2: 2700 frames @ offset 20429472
trk 3: 1541 frames @ offset 26779872
...
...
...
ERROR: couldn't find bin file [/home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output//home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.bin]
Error parsing input file (/home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.cue: file not found)

The input file /home/rene/tmp/qchdman-output/test.cue definitely exists smile.

The absolute path on ExtractCD should be OK, but does CreateCD work with this on Windows?

Yes, extracted CD (ExtractCD) recreated (CreateCD) and on MESS tested.
