JacKc sent me proposed new logos for MESS and UME, which he asked me to post here because his account is not yet approved.

So, here they are (click for high-res version):

mmm... for MESS I prefer the current one over this new one: the slim E and S used by JacKc are imho not as nice as the ones in Micko's logo

but I guess it is a matter of personal taste

MESS logo

1.) The thick of the italic type fonts between M and ESS are different. Compare the thickness of the bevels.

2.) The straight line which connect the letters is in my opinion too long/much.

3.) The alignment of the text is not centered.

The text IS centered! Look again !

I see, it was optical illusion.

Here an example what I mean with the different thickness of the bevels:

It doesn't matter if it's technically centred against the extents of the large text. It should be aligned to appear neutral. Right now it looks like it's off to the right. It should look "correct" without having to draw alignment guides.

For me it actually also looks correct . I only checked it technically after Anna's first post... I guess to make it look "correctly for everyone", the text should perhaps be made smaller to fit under the bottom part of MESS.

I think that when the M and ESS fonts would use the same thickness (as Anna correctly stated), that could also make the centering of the text "look" better...

Constructive criticism to the UME logo, it is better I leave it to others.
