Yeah, I'm just making softwarelists to be put into MESS at a later date. Meanwhile, they can still be used in clrmamepro for sorting out roms.

Here's a couple of small lists that I had been working on. They are complete.

I think I may have a few more hiding on my hard drive and will send them if I find them.

Thank you k1w1!
Please, somebody with SVN write permissions could insert this work there?
I think that, since this work is in SVN, it can't be lost!
(and more people can help with this work, of course)

Thanks for the info, eta!
I was just waiting somebody give me a "dev response" before I start to write mine softwarelists too, hehe

I think that is that the idea...
Unless I've sounded rude, disrespectful or thankless, which surely was not my intention...
In that case, please, just ignore that comment...
(my english is improving more and more, but sometimes I can slip in my words unnintentionally...).

well, just don't list again the systems already done and the ones provided by K1W1 and Logan smile

choose a different system you can find software for, do some little research to understand if the format is eligible for software lists (we focus on real cassette/cart/disk dumps, avoiding RAM dumps like .prg for C64 or .sna for Spectrum, because the latter do not represent the real media), and then just start creating a list!

Ok, of course I'll do for new ones!
That's why I think that it's important to maintain a active thread with this subject. To see if somebody is already working in a software list to avoid reinventations of wheel wink

@K1W1: any info about compatibility between TO-7 with TO-8 & TO-9 and/or MO-5 with MO-5NR and MO-6?

For anyone who wants to try their luck at a softwarelist, I have been going through TOSEC's dats and cross checking them with the currently supported drivers/formats. Here are some good starting points.

Code:
TOSEC dat name softwarelist	formats	comments (when I say big, it's BIG)

Apple III [apple3]	(.dsk)
Applied Technology MicroBee	[mbee_flop]	(.dsk)
Atari 8bit [a800_flop]	(.atr)[big]
Commodore C64 [c64_cass]	(.tap)[big]
Commodore PET [pet_flop]	(.d64)
DEC PDP-1 [pdp1] (.rim)
Dragon Data Dragon [dragon_flop]	(.vdk)
				[dragon_cass]	(.cas)
EACA EG2000 Colour Genie	[cgenie_cass]	(.cas)
Jupiter Cantab Jupiter Ace	[jupace]	(.tap (main), .wav (compilations (one file), if no .tap)
Matsushita National JR 200	[jr200] (.cjr)[no hookups yet][WTF is .cjr?]
Mattel Aquarius [aquarius_cass]	(.caq)
Memotech MTX [mtx500]	(.wav)[is the .mtx the same as .mbx? if so, then ignore]
Microkey Primo [primoa32_cass]	(.ptp, .wav (if no .ptp))[cdos bootdisks aren't implemented yet, same with .pri]
Nascom I & II [nascom1_cass]	(.cas, .tap (if no .cas))
[nascom2_flop]	(.dsk)[all your .dsk are belong to us]
NEC PC-6001 [pc6001_cart]	(.bin)[cart1]
				[pc6001_cass]	(.cas, .p6)[cart2]

In total there are less than 51 systems to make softwarelists for from TOSEC, due to some formats not working with the drivers (eg. Elektronika BK-0011M (MESS name) romslot).

First chunk added, thanks for the contribution (the rest is still in progress, in order to also hookup the list to the driver)

@LoganB: a bunch of notes
- supported defaults to yes, so you can skip it if it's "yes"
- 19xx is invalid, you shall use 19??
- you cannot skip the manufacturer, put unknown if it's missing
