Yes, like Sonic; S1 to 39K resistor to anode of diode, R to 120K resistor to anode of another diode, both diodes' cathodes to base of transistor.

It actually looks like N81. This die doesn't have the 2nd die ID, just the one under the top metal text KMS 73B: www.seanriddle.com/batmantasid.jpg

Since I dumped this one electronically from a 2nd game, I haven't removed the top metal layer yet.

Yeah, N81 makes more sense. The game is between Sonic(N71) and Sonic 2(N86).
Did you scan the background inlay?

I had a Batman TAS and was sent one, so I scanned both backgrounds: batmantasbkg.tif and batmantasbkg2.tif

I've only looked closely at 3 of the "girl" style games that are in the larger, more colorful cases, but the PCBs are all very similar. In contrast, there were very few PCBs in the other style that were similar.

Who knows why, maybe the model 72-xxx series ("girl" games) were done by a different team.

Here's tbatmana in MAME:

I added a die shot of the AY-3-8605 and pics of all 3 with the top metal removed. http://seanriddledecap.blogspot.com/

A fellow commented that he reverse engineering the AY-3-8500: https://plus.google.com/103546033861220813867

I added die shots of 2 more ball-and-paddle games: National Semiconductor MM57105 and MOS MPS 7600 from Coleco Telstar Arcade cart #1.

I uploaded info for R-Zone Battle Arena Toshinden: www.seanriddle.com/rztoshden.html

It had a Sharp SM510, and appears to be hooked up the same as Indy 500: S1 is LED control, S2 is SCLOCK, K1 is SDATA, R2 is SCTRL, R1 is AUDIO

Thanks, I added it to MAME.

Something went wrong with your conversion from rzarenatoshindenraw.bin to rzarenatoshinden.bin(rzarenatoshindenraw.bin itself is fine compared to the die). When I convert it, the CRC32 I get is 282c641f, lots of differences when doing a binary compare with yours.

Oops, I converted it as an SM511 instead of SM510. It looks like I did the same thing with Number Muncher, but you must have figured that out, too.

I dug out my R-Zone carts. I have a Super Screen (filter with color background) for these games: Battle Arena Toshinden, Area 51, Panzer Dragoon, Virtual Fighter 2, Virtua Cop, and Road Rash 3.

These games had a release with no filter (can't guarantee they weren't repackaged later) : Batman and Robin, Daytona USA, Jedi Adventure, Millennium Falcon Challenge, Primal Rage, Imperial Assault, Rebel Forces, and Apollo 13.

A few of these had been marked down to as little as 90 cents, haha. Any other carts I don't have the packaging for.

Any idea how to scan or photograph these?
