Thank you for the note. I'm able to access Machine Configuration menu to select proper port speed. However after running "BAUD" command with matching speed on Kaypro side, the keyboard stops working, it sends now strange characters. The only way to return it back is reset a machine.

That suggests the BRG is connected incorrectly. Which exact Kaypro model are you using?

edit: found a bug in the Kaypro II machine config - try applying this:
