I am a MAME newbie and am using the following commands to launch Socat and MAME as part of a development workflow. The application running on the Apple II emulation talks to the tty using Socat. This all works well at 9600 baud, which is the default for the null_modem. How can I update my command line to change the null_modem speed to 2400 baud?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I first run Socat

# Launch socat, this will connect the localhost port 2023 to bash shell on the local machine
socat tcp-l:2023,reuseaddr,fork exec:/bin/bash,pty,setsid,setpgid,stderr,ctty &

Then MAME

# Start MAME with a serial port hooked up to the localhost port 2023, i.e. the bash shell provided by socat
./mame64 apple2p -noreadconfig -skip_gameinfo -verbose -uimodekey CAPSLOCK -window -nomax -sl2 ssc -sl2:ssc:ssc_rs232 null_modem -bitbanger socket.127.0.0.1:2023 -sl3 videoterm -sl4 applicard -flop1 ../TestDisk.po

I'm not actually sure if you can control the null modem's baud rate from the command line. You may need to just change it in the Tab menu and then exit cleanly so the .cfg saves.

Yeah, no way to set machine configuration on the command line - have to edit XML or use the internal UI.
