Hello!

I just replaced my main display of a 3 display system. Previously my main display was listed as \\.\Display1 when I ran "mame.exe -v". Now, however, the new monitor is listed as \\.\Display3. This is causing a lot of problems with my games, since I have it configured to display different things on different monitors, with the main playfield on \\.\Display1. Having it at \\.\Display3 not only moves the gameplay to the wrong screen, but also blocks other content that should be displayed there.

My question is, how/where does MAME get that display info from? In Windows, my display numbers are just fine, but it doesn't match what MAME is reporting. I'm guessing there is a registry entry somewhere?

I appreciate any help!

Windows (at least here) struggles to even keep display numbers consistent between reboots.

Have you tried restarting the machine a few times with only the new main monitor plugged in? Windows might decide it's display1 again.
