i wanted to try sonic 1 megamix (fan-hack of sonic 1) on mess, but the current version is a sega cd format *.iso and i have absolutely no idea how to load it into mess using qmc2. what is the procedure for opening sega cd on mess using qmc2?

ubuntu natty narwhal 11.04 64-bit

First you have to convert it to chd format using chdman

on ubuntu, chdman is found in the mame-tools package from the sdlmame4ubuntu repo, right?

A plain .iso won't work - chdman wants bin/cue.

any iso->bin+cue recommendations for ubuntu natty?

Neologix

You'll need the chdman (http://sdlmame.wallyweek.org/download/) Then you'll need to convert the bin/cue or iso/cue to chd using the following [code]chdman -createcd "game.cue" "game.chd"

I'll send you a PM
