Brad, I was just wondering if the offer you made here to port Wolf:ET to the Mac is still good.

http://www.insidemacgames.com/forum/view...sc&start=15

Since Urban Terror is being ported to ET, those of us that play it will lose our Mac support.
There have been some other offers to help out but I haven't heard of much progress.

With that said, I'd hate to distract you from any REAL work or our beloved MacMAME.
I was just wondering. smile

Yes.

Thanks for the response Brad.
There's been a big push for this lately since Urban Terror already has a big Mac following.
Having a Mac version of just Wolf:ET would be nice but this would really open up the door for a Mac UrT port.
I might be able to put you in touch with the interested parties.
I'm currently waiting to hear back from the developers.

I hear that a lot. smile One guy has contacts at id, another at Activision and yet another at Splash Damage. And I just heard today that someone at Apple was trying to get involved. You'd think for a free game for which I've already seen 95% of the code in the form of the original Wolf engine and the just-released DLL code, this would be a lot simpler.

I agree. smile

The folks at SID , who do Urban Terror, seem a little frustrated over the whole thing. I've been trying to get in touch with them as I know they have good contacts at Splash Damage. They are Very Much in search of a Mac solution at SID.

I'm unsure as to just how interested Activision or anyone at Apple would actually be to get this done.
The source code was released a while ago so I was hoping we Mac users were going to get some kinda port.
Since SID seems the only ones motivated to get out a Mac port, I thought it might be best to confer with them.
I think their resources at Splash Damage could provide the remaining input you need.
When I hear back from them, I'll contact you.
The project coordinator at SID, "Oswald", has always been good about responding to my inquiries.
He's asked outright for help on this so I'm pretty sure I'll hear something soon.

Well, it's done.
We now have FREE Wolf:ET for Mac. smile

I heard a rumor that Brad was involved.
Any truth to that Brad ?

Yup, I triple-teamed on it along with the main ETPro developer and Timothee from id.

Brad,

Many thanks for this. Excellent multiplayer with maps that evoke Enemy at the Gates!

However, I've noticed that when launching the game the mouse cursor does not disappear (in game)! Is this a known bug (albeit very minor)? My system is an LCD iMac G4 (modest, I know) running Mac OS X 10.3.8. Thanks.

It's the same stupid DivX conflict that most other games suffer from. You can remove DivX to work around it. You might also be able to get around it by hitting Cmd-M and then Cmd-M again while in the game (although I haven't tested this approach).

I saw your fix on the MacNN forums a while back. I'm taking the principled stand that the DivX guys should fix their busted-ass junk. ;-)

I use the FFusion Quicktime component to play DivX movies. It doesn't cause all the problems that come with the official DivX plugin.
