here's what Aaron Giles says in v0.99u1's "Whats's New":

Rewrote the configuration reader/writer code to be more generic and easier
for other subsystems to plug into. This necessitated a rewrite of the way
the existing code reads config data. As a result, your game.cfg files will
be invalid after this update. Your default.cfg and existing controller-
specific .cfg files should work fine. [Aaron Giles]

so yes, there are compatibility issues between the two versions wink

Thank you very much for the info. I took your advice and moved the contents of my config folder somewhere else and let MacMame create new config files from scratch. It's now remembering my key-mapping with no problems.

Again, many thanks!

Might want to rename it to make it a more unofficial or different build. Only so there is no confusion...

I will do that. I will also insert a notice in the about box so that nobody goes about bothering Brad with this unofficial release. But before that I have to figure out how one edits those damn .rsrc file sin osX wink

BTW, I noticed another bug: the hornet.c driver complains about a non-present cpu, yet all 3 CPUs used by that driver are compiled in. Don't know yet what's causing this...

change src/validity.c so that it outputs cpu->cpu_type, that should tie up with the enum in src/cpuintrf.h

Which should at least point you at the right cpu.

Great work!

Please specify minimum system requirements.
I assume this program needs Panther, since it starts and immediately quits under Jaguar.

To modify the about box, a simple solution is to use the open-source Rezilla to change the "Ported by Ķ" string.

I guess system requirements are the same as those of MacMame 0.97u1 wink

Sorry, but I'm quite new to the Mac world, so I have no idea what changed in Tiger from Jaguar or Panther...

How about submitting a Diff back to Brad, that way he can see how it differs from his build of 0.102 and if it doesn't then offical 0.102, job done! (If you see what I mean?)

I will do that as soon as I get hornet.c and the debug build fixed...
