Hello folks, after a number of frustrating nights, Ive decided to seek some help in getting SNK vs Capcom Chaos to run within Macmame. Although I own the PS2 NTSC/J version, Im very keen to have SVC on the ibook at work.

- Im running MacMAME 0.103u2
- I have the neogeo.zip placed within my roms folder. This has allowed me to run all of the Neo Geo titles that I own, including more recent games such as Samurai Showdown V Special.
- I have two rom files that I have been attempting to use:

svc.zip (79.4 MB)
svcpcb.zip (87.5 MB)

- Ive checked MAWS, and the necessary files appear to be present.

MAME fails to recognise either rom, and opening the files manually causes the program to close. Where to from here? :bemused:

svc.zip contents

neogeo.zip contents

SVC is not supported in 103u2. You will need to wait until MacMAME gets updated.

Hello Isaac, and thanks for your reply. Could you perhaps explain why MacMame will run the likes of Samurai Showdown V Special (2004), yet SVC (2003) is not supported? Further, is anybody aware of whether the latest WinMame supports SVC?

SSVS was a 2004 bootleg of an older game. SVC is a 2003 authentic. We don't bother respecting the rights of bootleggers since they have none.

You've been to MAWS, so you already know if current Windows MAME (and XMAME) support it.

SSVS is a legitimate release, not a bootleg. There might be a bootleg version of SSVS, but that would be a bootleg of an actual SNK game.

Samurai Showdown V Special was the very last game created for the MVS hardware, and SVC predates it by about a year. Youre perhaps thinking of SSV.
Im fairly new to Mame, and thus Im unaware of the MacMame development schedule- would it be impertinent to ask about the expected wait for the forthcoming version/update?

If it'll be a while before I can run SVC, Ill give some thought to replacing the G4 with an Intel Mini or MBP.
