Download the binary and source from:

Nice and fast update...

IMO, all this emulator still needs is an audio section in the preferences.. and maybe audio effects there too so people dont have to set them on each time?

Outstanding. Artwork issues are fixed for me; not sure if it's something you did or if it was something amiss in the base .116 MAME code.

Nice to see also that save state support has been added to Battle Zone, so I can start racking up those high scores again!

Dave,

Weird bug:

If you have artwork files, the window scales accordingly, even if you have disabled the artwork within the game. If you remove the artwork files outright, the window will scale properly.

Actually Battlezone already saved scores to .nv, but now if your wife/GF kicks you off in the middle of a good game you can come back later =)

I seem to recall Battlezone using .nv files, but it doesn't create one when I run it; I've used the same files since the MacMAME days; no bzone.nv file in my NVRAM directory...

Dave,

I've noticed a problem in 0.117 and 0.117-1 with vector games: all of the lines in the games seem to be "flickering". In other words, the intensity of the different lines are constantly changing. I may not be explaining this very well, but I hope I'm getting the idea across. I've tried Battlezone, Star Wars, and Tempest, and they all do it. This issue didn't appear for me in 0.116.

As always, thank you for your continuing work on MAME OS X.

Hmm... apparently something changed in baseline, and the flicker value of 1.0 now has a different effect in 0.117. Unfortunately, there is no GUI pref for this, but you can disable the flicker from the command line:

Code:
% defaults write net.mame.mameosx VectorFlicker -float 0.0

To enable the flicker again, set it to 1.0:

Code:
% defaults write net.mame.mameosx VectorFlicker -float 1.0

Which audio preferences, other than the effect, would you like?

Yeah, I need to figure out a fool-proof way to persist the audio effects. Using their name should work... just need to sit down and do it.
