Had no trouble so far with 64-bit Hardy, on a fairly underpowered machine (Celeron M 530, 1.73 GHz). Sound card is Intel HDA-based (SiS 966). Latencies are the same I used to get with Gutsy (i.e. even lower than baseline on Windows XP), and I'm even surprised that this Celeron machine can run CPS3 games (at least all SF3 games) at 100% speed without frameskip.
I'm not sure if SDL is using ALSA directly or the PulseAudio pass-through (yes, it did come with PulseAudio enabled by default).

I've spent the last few days installing emulators and the Wahcade frontend to integrate them all together on the PS3, all usable from the Sixaxis wirelessly... and of course, with SDLMAME. I'll probably post a video tonight and leave a link here if anyone's interested in seeing it.

Eventually, I'm going to have it boot directly into Wahcade once Linux boots and then boot directly back to the PS3 OS when Wahcade is closed.

SDLMAME is only a small part of it though. The frontend's not quite how I want it yet (video previews not working yet for some reason)... and I screw up by picking NES again and forgetting about SNES, but what can ya do?

It's okay, you sort of picked a SNES game in the Gameboy Advance part..

Most likely gcc-4.3.0 is too new, you need to disable -Werror.

Actually, 0.124u6 included a bunch of patches from people running GCC 4.3.0, but apparently on Linux it generates different warnings than on MinGW.
