Hey, can anyone help me out? I love this emulator but none of my menu items in the "options" or "edit" menus work, they're all grey and disabled. This means I cannot freeze or defrost game states, save screenshots, none of that.

I'd really like to figure out how to make this work considering this emulator actually runs at the right speed and all of that.

Any help would be awesome, thanks

Jeff is using the Mac version, and unusually I'm not able to help him as I simply don't know what causes this issue and I've never been able to reproduce. If anyone can give me a concrete set of steps to cause I'd appreciate it.

Im a Mac guy and Ive noticed it occasionally too.
Doesnt happen all the time, but once in awhile the menu will be greyed out.

EDIT: I just figured out how to do it I think..
Open Nestopia
Select File->Open and pick a game. (I used good old 10 Yard Fight)
Voila no options.

Theres actually more menu choices then I thought greyed out..

Options menu only selectable choice is Transfer Random Barcode
Edit Menu only Game Genie and DIP Switches.
File Menu only Open, Open Recent, and Page Setup. Not even Reset is highlighted.

However, if you open Nestopia, and use the Open Recent menu to open a game in the list, everything works as it should..

Any console log or something I can send in for help?

Okay, I found the problem. Seems like it's an OS bug rather than mine, which would figure why reports have only started coming in lately; the code in question hasn't changed in an eternity.

Please confirm that the below fixes the problem:

New beta fixes the problem. It must have been introduced in the recent OS X update (which I installed on my system yesterday). I wonder if other apps are also affected or not...

It was there before 10.5.3. I just always figured it was a wierd glitch or something and never bothered saying anything.

Hrm new wrinkle with this new beta. It keeps telling me my Emulator Enhancer library is out of date. I already had 2.2.2 installed so I redownloaded and installed for kicks. Still get the message. Looked for a preference file to delete but couldnt come up with anything to try..

EDIT: Just to note I did also try Genesis Plus, Mugrat and SMS out and EE does still work with those.

I think it's a 10.5.1 or later thing to be honest. And yes, your Emulator Enhancer library is out of date now. You'll need an update I haven't released yet.

Ooo sneaky sneaky hehe! Ok so its not just me!

Went back to the previous version in the meantime and am just doubling clicking the files to open em. All is well while awaiting the next release!
