And now networking is working, although a lot of tidying-up is still needed.

IE 2 isn't compatible with most of the web these days, but there is a MIPS version of IE3 that I'll try to install shortly.

Great work! There's a proxy you can set up that "devolves" modern webpages into simple HTML and PNG images for this sort of thing. I can't remember what it's called though.

There are several. For example:

(and great work!)

Thanks, WRP was the one I was thinking of, although it's apparently changed quite a bit since then. When I used it it was mostly Python.

After implementing the very initial basics of the IRIS 3130's MMU hardware, we have the first signs of life without needing a weird hack.

The correct RAM size is detected, there's no longer a mapping collision between the Multibus memory window and main RAM, and we can boot the IP2 diagnostics from a virtual Multibus ROM board:

Nice! Having the diagnostics running should definitely help.

You'd think so, but now that they're running, I can see that the diagnostics are kind of crap. The only actual tests are a floating-point accelerator test, a parity test, and pretty much all of the remaining "diagnostics" are the sort of things that exist by default in the ARCS PROMs for MIPS: read/write byte/short/long, print current time according to the RTC, show the low memory limit, show the high memory limit, and so on.

I've added a driver for the Tulip System I:

rfka01 recently uploaded some info for it to the FTP.

Unfortunately it uses the unemulated 8256A MUART, which combines interrupts, timers, serial and parallel I/O.

Great!
I've contacted some folks on different forums if they'd be willing to share more software for the Tulip System I ... we'll see what transpires.
