Hey guys, first post here! (Too bad it's a problem...)
Well yeah.. When I open MAME OS X and after 10secs it closes automatically. No errors or pop-ups it just closes..Is there anyway I can fix this? I really want to play metal slug (Which is the best run-gun game IMO). So please gimme a hand on this.If you need any info just tell me I'll give it to ya.

Thanks in advance.

Wow, nobody knows the fix to my problem? =/ That sucks...Oh btw I made a mistake it should be "I open MAME OS X and after 10secs" as in I don't do anything I just open it. Sorry about the "When".

Sounds like you have an out-of-date or incorrect ROM. You can turn on logging and check the log, but better yet run an audit (if you haven't done so already), then choose the game from the list and Get Info on it to confirm this; missing files will be highlighted in red.

That means you need to start your ROM quest again for an up-to-date one. The Metal Slug romset and the Neo Geo romset have both changed over the years (you'll need both mslug.zip and neogeo.zip for this game to run).

Hey man, really appreciate the response, but the thing is that I don't even have time to load a ROM lol. I just open it, begin auditing and then it closes, boom. Even if I minimize it, it doesnt appear in the dock. One more thing how do I turn on the logging option?

Thanks again.

It sounds like you aren't running OSX on a computer that was built by Apple?
If you're not, you need to take your issue to one of the many OSX86 forums. Hackintoshes are not supported here.

Are there any MAME OS X crash logs in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/? If so, can you post one?

Also, Debug logging can be enabled in the Preferences window.
