Hi,

I bought a "Logitech Rumble Pad 2" gamepad which works pretty well under Mame OS X, except that I must use the keyboard to add credits and to push the 1 or 2 player button.

Question : is it possible to map buttons 5 to 8 of this gamepad to assume these functions ?

Thanks.

Yes. Use MAME's standard key/button mapper (press Tab when a game is running and go to Inputs).

Thank you very much, this work great !

Another question : do you know if we can assign a gamepad button to the "escape" function (in order to quit the game and to choose another one) ?

Thank you very much : I can now add coins, select 1 or 2 players and quit the game with my wireless pad.

The only thing I cannot do is select another game in the list and open it, when I am in the Mame OS X inteface.

Any idea ?

AFAIK there is no way for game pads to control the standard Mac UI elements. Maybe there's a system extension or something?

In the past, I've had success using USB Overdrive to generate mouse/keypresses with the Logitech rumble pad

I'm using this controller fairly successfully with MAME OSX. However, my one complaint is I am unable to calibrate the right joystick axis (sometimes referred to as the z-axis, but MAME tends to call it "axis 4")

The problem is that when the stick is in the neutral position, MAME sees it as being pushed up, or away from me. In order to get MAME to sense that the stick is in the neutral position, I actually have to hold the stick slightly downward.

Is there a utility anyone knows of that would "re-calibrate" the joystick so that MAME sees the actual position?
