I tried the following images on mess trs80m4, with these results CPM 2.22 in dmk format, written in sdltrs, boots in sdltrs, in mess it displays the inverse video CPM banner, and then displays BDOS err on A:? (does not boot) TRSDOS 6.21 in dmk format, written in sdltrs, boots in sdltrs, in mess it displays No System (does not boot) LS-DOS 06.03.01 in dmk format, written in sdltrs, boots in sdltrs, in mess it displays No System (does not boot) Thanks to Micko for making IMD image usable, so now I have disks to work with..

Ok, I found a way to convert my disks to imd format, I got these results...
CPM 2.22, same results as dmk format above, BDOS err on A:? TRSDOS 6.21, now boots, but basic does not run, displays garbage on the bottom half of the screen. LS-DOS 06.03.01, now boots, but basic does not run, displays garbage on the bottom half of the screen.
By "garbage" I mean a nonsensical sequence of characters is displays across the lower portion of the screen. I think the characters are the same each time and for both OSs, TRSDOS 6.21 and LS-DOS 06.03.01. This seems to be consistently reproducible and probably has to do with the memory map.

Ooops! trs80l2 (model I) boots my single sided single density jv1 format NewDOS disk, but then fails to read the directory! What did you break?

Also, NewDOS80 for the model III now fails to boot. As an imd disk, double density, single sided, it displays "SYSTEM PROGRAM NOT FOUND" As a dmk disk, double density, single sided, it flashes the title screen. As a jv1 disk, single density, single sided, it displays the same behavior as the model I does now...

A bit complicated with the disk format support for the TRS80 driver. I confirm the problem. trs80l2 driver 1st Screenshot (official MESS 0.134) 2nd Screenshot (SVN r5902) NewDOS/80 (.dsk) trs80m3/trs80m4 driver 1st Screenshot (official MESS 0.134) 2nd Screenshot (SVN r5902) NewDOS/80 (.dsk)

More than a bit! We are making progress though!

Well it is now several years later and I am again testing the TRS80 drivers, and I am unable to get the Model 3 or Model 4 to boot with any disk format I have tried. The TRS80 Model 1 level 2 only boots from a NEWDOS 80 disk I have. TRSDOS will not boot.
