Maybe this info help you.

echoes Senior Member Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 267	i've seen this bug reported fairly often on ubuntu but i use nestopia on opensuse & i don't remember experiencing this, even with onboard intel sound. i could be wrong, but the only thing i see about sound in the changelog is this: Quote Sound stuttering on window clicks. although the changelog may not be totally complete/comprehensive.
