Hello.

I'm trying to record avi videos with sdlmess. I've alread tried alter aviwrite entry on mess.ini and pass it through command line without success.

One of these trying:
Code:
sdlmess snes -cart "/mess/image/jogos/snes/temsnap/Aguri Suzuki F-1 Super Driving (E).smc" -inipath /mess/ini -aviwrite %g/%i

It starts the game and I press the keys I've configured, it starts to recording and saves only .mng.

How could I get avi movies under sdlmess?

Thank you in advance.

Well, what happens if you use an actual filename instead of line noise? smile

in particular, give an actual filename to the .avi output and it should work

Thank you RB and etabeta, but it didn't work.

Code:
./mess snes -rompath ./rom -cart /media/2E25F72E3FAB5FBE/SNES/boas/Aguri\ Suzuki\ F-1\ Super\ Driving\ \(Europe\).smc -aviwri "nhanha.avi" -window

An file called 0000.mng was created under ./snap/snes/, no .avi file.

Tnx in advance!

Check in just ./snap, -aviwrite on MESS doesn't follow system names. And don't use "" around the filename unless there's special characters in it.

-RB just created a short AVI in MESS from latest SVN, ran it through mencoder to convert to h264, and played it back on my PS3.

Found it! .avi file was created below ./snap dir.

The problem now is the movie created shows only something like left/up quarter of the screen.

Tried under slackware 13.1 and ubuntu Lucid Lynx. Can I give more information to help you to help me?

Tnx in advance!

<edit>

Use -snapsize XxY to resize video output to what you want.

http://mahlemiut.marpirc.net/fmt_ssf2.avi -- an example I did a while ago, converted using avidemux.
