Came across two things:
1. There's a developer's wiki here:
http://www.planetvb.com/modules/dokuwiki/doku.php?

2. They mention in the forums that official Nintendo developer's documentation is "around" (read this thread): http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4409&forum=2 (suggestion: sign up and start a new thread smile )

Brightness isn't yet fixed, it's just the game that brights the palette more than usual smile

I just pushed the gamma up a bit, that gives all the brightness you need.

Nintendo VUE-VPU, 160pin - VPU (Video Processor Unit) or VPU (Video image Processor Unit) - was originally called VIP (Video Image Processor)
Nintendo NVC-VUE, NEC, 100pin - NVC (NEC V810 CPU)
Nintendo VRM-VUE, 70pin - VRM (VRAM)
Nintendo VSU-VUE ATT, 28pin - VSU (Virtual Sound Unit)

I think I missed what VUE stands for...
