Hey, if someone with a decent rig could please give me some current n64 driver benchmarks with (last known) working games like Mario 64, etc., that would be great. Thanks! smile

Why? It's well-known that some 2D games will run full-speed or nearly so on a decent rig, but that none or almost none of the 3D games run acceptably on modern machines. Beyond that it sounds like you're considering suggesting MESS to people as an N64 emulator, and I'd rather you not do that.

I do know of one game that doesn't work, and that's Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. The text is seriously fucked up.

I don't care, kid. The driver is marked "NOT WORKING" for a very good reason.

I'm not suggesting it to anyone for primary usage, but I realized that I hadn't seen any statistics with regards to what speed it is running at currently in many months. I understand there's still more optimizations and many more fixes to go and so on. This is in regards to the other thread on another forum I told you about. I didn't mean to cause trouble, it was purely out of curiosity: I didn't know what the 3D games were running like lately. And I'm not asking you to do it: if John_IV or Arbee or someone wants to answer with some benches, that's cool.

C:\O\Games\MESS>mess n64 sm64u -bench 90
Average speed: 57.28% (89 seconds)

Mario's head spinning around, not really indicative of in-game work but it's what I had here atm.

C2D Wolfdale e8400 @ 3.6Ghz.

AMD Phenom II x6 3.3Ghz:

Super Mario 64: 47%
1080 Snowboarding: 42%
Automobili Lamborghini: 41%
Doom64: 34%
Hydro Thunder: 57% (mostly due to the 2d logos at the start causing the game to run at 100%, average more like 47%)
Densha de Go! 64 (Japanese Train Simulator): 52% (again due to 2d logos, average more like 45%)
