Hello everyone,
as I announced on no-intro already I have dumped GO-NET for the Japanese Mega Drive. I want to make sure it is a complete and useful dump before selling. When dumping in auto-mode using the retrode I receive a 512k file which loads fine in Kega. However when I force to dump as 32 MBit I get 4xthe 512k mentioned above and the 2nd half (2 MB) consist of 4x 512k of different data though there appears to be nothing of importance here. I still like to know what I have here. Is there any way to play Mega Modem dependent games in MESS or other emulators? Any other suggestions or anyone who might want to analyze it? Thanks in advance.

Definitely pcb pics are needed. I'd err on the side of caution and post the overdumped rom, if there turns out to be something important it'd be nice to get that.

I fear I cannot provide pcb-pics as opening Japanese MD games requires removal of the cart-label I was hoping to verify it with a certain probability by getting it to work at least. It appears it complains about a damaged save file on startup. If anyone wishes to take a closer look he can PM me anytime.

if you have access to a medical X-ray machine you might be able to identify the contents of the cart without opening it

there's nothing to guess, document it or do not
undocumented dumps are worthless to accurate emulation, you're at best adding yet another +1 webshit to the rom collection stats out there

readonly: that's overly harsh. A dump, even poorly undocumented, is better than no dump at all.

I'm not harsh lol, at all, try to imagine a world with only undocumented roms, patch factories are what 'emus' would be. Such indulgence is the reason why we have so much mess lying around, I'm talking about the web garbage collections, no pun intended (maybe?).

@ReadOnly
I guess you were formerly known as X-or or YK? Still after all those years the same level of ignorance. Well - you demand a documentation even though the reason why it's not possible has clearly been explained and you can't provide a better method as well. The proposal with the X-ray was interesting though I fear it won't be possible - but I will try. Seriously: If you want to risk destroying a 1600€ game that's your decision but I still have some sanity left in my mind.

Eh BigFred, Great news !!!
Can you send me the dump (elbarto at megadrive.org) so I can have a look ?
For now the modem isn't reversed, I haven't found the time to do it. No emulator supports it.
