Guess it's time to order one of these: https://www.tindie.com/products/option8/retroconnector-joystick-shield/

I do not have an analog controller (XB or PS). I'll order the above and test.

You can emulate an analog joystick with the keyboard. The Analog Controls section in the Tab menu lets you set how fast the controller moves per frame when a key is down ("digital speed") and how fast it returns to center when you let go ("autocenter speed", which can be 0 to not autocenter).

This obviously works OK for some games and terribly for others smile

Looks like the bitbanger menu is missing from the UI (29743). Are there CLI options now?

FYI 115K support stop working around SVN 29536+.

My analog joystick setup arrives tomorrow. I was able to test with mouse, but not the same. Is there a way to disable the joystick? -nojoy didn't error, but didn't disable it either.

Thanks guys.

That's odd, I don't think anything changed with the 115k support. smf?

I'm assuming you're reporting it as r29536+ because it was r29535 that you last tested. r29536 itself has no changes I can see that would affect it. Someone else has reported that "socket." doesn't work since:

r29545 "corefile: Don't crash on 0-length files [O. Galibert]"

Although I haven't tested it personally.

There have been other changes since, but I haven't mentioned them here due to the report of "socket." not working.

r29656 "Fixed crash introduced in r29533 when the 6551 transmitter and receiver is shutdown (nw)"
r29668 "MOS 6551 Fixed uninitialised variable that could prevent transmit irq from being generated after reset. [smf]"
r29668 "Added serial printer, renamed centronics printer to match. Standardised the configuration of rs232 devices. All serial devices are now connected using an rs232 port. [smf]"

Since r29668 baud rate selection is in system configuration, you can set it once and it will save it on exit. You will only have to change it again if you ever start it without null_modem plugged in.

If changing the configuration doesn't work then try a svn "update to" on each of these revisions, build it and let me know which one stopped it working. If it's r29545 then you're safe to just locally revert it until it gets fixed.

I'm not entirely sure what OG's change was about, but if it's not crashing then you're not hitting it.

It's worth testing again with latest, remembering to check system configuration is correct

r29748: Fix r29545 w.r.t sockets and friends (nw)

If that doesn't work, then going back through the revisions I listed to confirm exactly which commit broke it.

Mame got a segfault when a rom file inside a zip was zero-sized.

OG.

Was this because someone had sample .zip with zero length .wav files?

Thanks! Slow and fast serial works (r29752 tested). I tested 16MB of data again without issue at 115K. I also tested 9600 and 19.2.

Video demo of printing with MESS apple3 9600 serial (turn on your sound):

Can I set the baud, etc... from the CLI at this point? Thanks again.

Got setup today and did a quick test:
