Nice! Love the picture-in-picture, that's really sweet.

Unfortunately not, yet.

However you can take backups of apple3.cfg with the different baud rates set and then copy in the relevant one before running MESS. It's not ideal, but it might be workable until we get command line configuration working.

Did you try adtpro again? I found and fixed an issue with 6551 interrupts while working on commodore LCD and while it's a long shot it might have also been the reason that didn't work.

As for the picture in picture, it looks great & we should support stuff like that in MESS. It would be even better if you could switch to another view with the paper coming out of a 3d rendered printer and the display to be on a 3d rendered monitor, all hooked up to a 3d rendered apple 3. Our rendering can't even cope with LCD computers having peripherals with output (so no serial terminal hooked up to a husky for instance).

Not a problem. It's for my documentation. If it were an option, I'd document it.

Still a lot of issues at 115K and 19.2K (same issues). On receiving an image, the first pass of data is fast and fine, on the 2nd pass, its craws, and on the 3rd, it stalls. When sending an image, the ADTPro Java server dumps a lot of *.nib files with junk names, throws an exception, and times out.

All kidding aside, I'm sure someone with an Oculus Rift or equiv will do something like this in the future.

As someone who likes to preserve, experience, and explore computer history, it would be a welcome hack.

I'm not kidding.

castar would be pretty awesome, if it's as good as they say and they can actually get it shipped. The only problem is you can't touch the keys. Boxes covered with the reflective material could be made to look like different computers though.

Hi, a few more issues to report:

1. The RESET key does not work. E.g. I cannot RESET or CTRL-RESET. I have RESET mapped to F12.

2. If I have an open serial connection (-rs232 null_modem -bitb socket.127.0.0.1:1977) and use UI Menu/Slot Devices/Reset, on restart my serial connection is down (closed).

3. If I quit MESS and restart with the same port (1977), I get the following error: FATALERROR: Device Bitbanger load (socket.127.0.0.1:1977) failed: File not found (better than the segfaults).

Thanks guys.

P.S. forgot to add that this is with OS/X.

The reset key on the /// is, like much of that computer, a surprisingly complex topic. I need to do a schematic dive before I can confidently enable it.

I find in some cases, certainly with two MESS instances using the same socket, that it the socket remains open if you close the first application that opened it. It will eventually timeout, though and let you use it again.

That has been my experience as well. At least the segfault issue is resolve and I can use a simple script to loop mess attempts, e.g.:

Code:
while ! mess64 ... ; do sleep 1; done

That is my workaround for now.

If you get latest, typing should be more natural on the Apple II and ///, and Reset and Ctrl-Reset should do the right things on the /// (plain reset generates an NMI if it's enabled on the VIA, and Ctrl-Reset actually pulls RESET on the 6502).

Thank you! Early testing good. Waiting for another to report on his testing. The "typing" is a huge plus. Thanks again.
