The processors on SBLive! and later cards only run code the PC downloads, there's nothing to dump or decap.

The CT1341 has been decapped and identified.

Unfortunately so far the bits are not visible in the memory array. Hopefully delayering will show something.

Nice! Do we have another one to try in an EPROM reader?

I had tried reading it in my EPROM reader. It couldn't be identified so i tried reading as 80c52 it read as all FF's. The person doing the decap also tried reading it on his reader as 80c51 and it also came out all FF's. MHS CT1741's also behave like this i have to assume there protected against reading.

Could be the only hope for these older Sound Blaster cards is a trojan attack.

Huh. We'll definitely want to complete an optical readout and then see if there's an exploitable command to get other revisions then.

By change did i misunderstand you. When you wrote "optical readout" were you referring to imaging the whole die or just the bits in the memory array? Assuming this chip uses a mask ROM and the bits can be imaged.
