Hi, I'm trying out the QMC2 for MAME after quite some time since I heard about your image/icon auditor and I had some questions. smile

1. I like to filter my game list and hide non-working (the big red message from MAME when it tries to run), clones, and BIOS/devices (ah I see the BIOS/devices filter). Is there a way to do that?

2. I used my icons (mameui.info) and expanded them all into a folder and pointed the path to it, but QMC2 won't see them freestanding, I had to zip them into icons.zip. Are freestanding icons not supported? I also couldn't audit them freestanding.

3. Regarding your image/icon auditor, would it be possible to have a preset or some ability to use it to audit *just* working, parents and *not* devices/BIOS or clones? That's what I do my snaps and icons against (no clone sets and no non-workers) using an old tool from Logiqx; unfortunately his tool also tells me I'm missing devices/BIOSes so those pollute my audit since it was written prior to devices existing on their own.

FYI - My preview image audit also thinks all my snaps are obsolete for some reason. Even though it found 5017 images.

Thanks -

1) You can filter by "ROM status" and BIOS/device sets, but you can't mix that with the parent/clones (yet). There are plans to implement advanced filtering in the future...

2) Freestanding icons are also supported, but they must be in PNG format then. However, zipped icons are recommended as they a) can be any format and are b) read much faster than opening/reading many little (PNG) files.

3) Images/icons for the sets are completely independent from the question if it's actually working or not... so no, there's no way to limit that to just the (probably) working ones.

Could you show a concrete example for that? The obsoleteness checks aren't trivial, so there might still be bugs left under certain circumstances (OS, case of file / path names, special characters in path names etc.).

If you'd like you can download my snaps from mameui.info packs 1,2,3 and update. The 1-3 are a spanned 7zip file then layer the update on top of it.

I put them in c:\games\mame\snap as freestanding *.png files. There's 5179 of them. Pointed QMC2 to that directory via Options / Front End / FilesDirectories / Preview Directory and ran the preview audit. It finds them all in the left column, shows all the missing clones in the middle and then when it's done it shows the contents of the left column as all obsolete.

Maybe it's some Windows specific issue. Let's see smile...

Oh yes, I can reproduce this on Windows. I'll try fixing it at the weekend (#78)... can't promise, though.
