just wanted to say: "Thanks for the great work at the LCD games emulation"

But i have one question, about the full artwork preservation. Currently only the background and the lcd-segments get scanned and are working in MAME. Will the full artwork (showing the console itself) also featured one day, with clickable buttons?
Get the consoles itself currently scanned/photographed too?

Any further than the minimum(simple background for lcd games, or simple internal artwork for LED handhelds), I'm not going to be involved. It's up to users to create external artwork. Did you check the MAMEWorld forum? Here's some great new stuff for example: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthread...p;view=expanded&sb=5&o=&vc=1

Those are great!

The fellow sending me the Tiger games is scanning every case and will send those files when he's done. I'll be happy to make them available, but I'm not sure how best to do that. I've got pretty crappy internet access at my house, so it will take me a long time to upload them somewhere.

I also just picked up Tropical Fish, a Game & Watch game, using funds that were in my PayPal account from pledges. To be sent off for dumping, of course. People seemed to be generally okay with the idea, so smile

I think scanning the actual handhelds and making them available would definitely be a very important thing to do, later on they can be processed and added to MAME with clickable artwork and such, but for now getting proper quality scans while the handhelds are available should be done or it will be a lot harder to do it in the future.

Sean, if you don't have a good enough internet connection you could always do it like the old days and burn a DVD (or a flashdrive) and snail mail it to someone that have a better connection.

JD: That's a great lot indeed! About G&W stuff, I think a good way to get the more expensive/rarer games (Panorama, Tabletop, Super Color, etc.) could be starting a donation pool and then reselling the games after they have been dumped, I mean they sell easily so it shouldn't be hard to at least recover a good portion of the investment. Just not sure about the MCUs used on some of the series and if they can be dumped in a non-destructive way or not.

The COP421 handheld space invaders game from patent US4345764 is working in MAME.
There's not much to show, just a bunch of leds:
[Linked Image]

As you can see, there are 9*12(108) red leds on that screenshot for player and bullets. But it actually only has 9 red leds, on a horizontal user-controlled rail with 12 possible positions. I don't think this game was released, seems unncessarily complex.
