Heh! I never realized the screen dims briefly when it's playing sounds, but that makes perfect sense.

I don't think that's intentional, but a side effect of having weak batteries in it... (Or just a side effect of the power drain from the speaker regardless of battery strength...) I'll try mine with new batteries and see if it still does that... smile

Rik: it makes sense though, because the display is driven sequentially, and the CPU can't update the display while it's ticking the speaker. If it really doesn't happen with new batteries I'd be curious to know though smile

The on-chip LCD driver runs in parallel with the CPU.
I don't think this game's MCU is one where the display needs to be updated manually.
