I honestly didn't know quite what I was doing. The method you described works great, you can get an overlay to your liking. But I couldn't independently edit the overlay to the right colours without that affecting the background or vice versa. That was basically my problem. So I tried everything I could think of with the possible blending modes to not get that to not happen and couldn't work it out and then settled on this compromise.
Ah, I must not have noticed the last time I remade things. It used to say Eject. That's correct, this style use the same assets. Fixed. Thanks. I also agree Sparky looks faded. It was just hard to get right without making the background more saturated.
The game doesn't work well with moving the 2 guys independently, is that the same on the real device as well? For example, in MAME hold down K and then press E or D to move the left guy, it doesn't work until you let go of K.
