@Darth: can you share your gnw_pinball artwork package?

Sure. Right now its a bunch of layers in a Photoshop file. I still need to do some minor clean up. Once I get the ROM I will put it all together and upload it to my Google Drive artwork folder.

OK, I finished my first pass on the art. I just did the backgrounds for now but I will throw a quick case together. Definitely room for improvement but at least the game is playable. One note is that the upper layer is translucent. I have it set to 90% now but if you want it more see-through, find the "Plastics" lines in the lay file and lower the color alpha from 0.9.

You can download it from my drive here:

Thanks. And thanks to Hydef for the majority of the unit image basis and Henrik for the scans.

Edit: And also to Hap......

Pretty good for a handheld pinball game =)
Compared to the older LED ones, for example Wildfire (too difficult), or Raise The Devil (too random)

That is great work in preserving those lcd games. Many such as I initially thought this would be impossible. Kudos to all involved.

As a matter of fact, I finally figured out the title of the one game I played like hell back in the day: it was called cat and mice.

Sadly my copy died and was thrown away a long time ago and I thought I would never find the name again.

Do any of you have it by any chance? If it ends up preserved for posterity I’d be a happy camper.

I uploaded a video for Pinball. IMHO the black lines do need to be much more visible behind the front layer tho, you can't really see them at all as it stands, yet they're very prominent on original hardware videos

Starlord: from the gameplay, that looks like it's probably a program we already have with a differently-themed LCD screen. Of course, we still need an actual unit to get the screen scanned properly.

Do any of the ones we emulate play classical music? I've noticed it with a few of the UK ones (including the type I sent to Sean but he couldn't handle beyond the decap showing the part number)

A lot of games are going to share common gameplay, but be unique implementations.
