Hello

I have an older version of SDLMAME for Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a PMG5 PPC and I am looking for a front end.

Could anyone recommend a solution? I would be much obliged.

I don't need all the bells and whistles but ideally it would be aware of the SDLMAME folder and have an interface to the config file.

My setup
SDLMAME 0.146
MESS 0.142 (If it works with MESS as well it would be great)

Thank you.

When I was still in PPC land a couple years back, here are a few I was able to use fairly well (after some tweaking/experimenting):

MacMAMEInfoX (says "tested up to 0.141"):

MAME Tunes:

MAMEpgui:
(unable to track down a download/info page)

Hope those help!

Try searching for "M+GUI"

I'm not sure if the later Mac ports are supported, but I still use 1.5.0 without problems

M+GUI source is here:
http://mameplus.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mameplus/trunk/mamepgui/
Github mirror here: https://github.com/svn2github/mameplus/tree/master/trunk/mamepgui

Current version seems to be v1.6.0. I can find a Windows build of 1.6.0 at EmuCR (be wary) and a few older Windows builds linked to from MAMEWorld and Emu-France. However, it seems no one is making and distributing Mac builds.

[EDIT] Okay there seems to be a Mac build here:
http://emulationrealm.net/downloads/file/1350-m-gui-mac http://emulationrealm.net/downloads/file/1350-m-gui-mac

Haven't tested, so be wary. wink It is maybe not PPC-compatible.

You can try QMC2. Ive been using it since M+Gui went dead years ago..
The Mac maintainer does make Universal builds too so you should be ok, Ive never tested them though, just the Intel ones.

QMC2 < Give that a try. Confusing at first. You will get use to it.
