Sharp X-1

Todo: Sharp MZ, FM7, 32X, Saturn, Spectrum.

That's at least 19 officially released verions of Space Harrier that run in MAME. Fairly sure no other game received as many ports as this one did, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.

There's also a remake for the Atari 8bit machines which is supposed to be excellent, but I can't get it to run in MAME.

Puzzle Bobble (arcade, original, Taito B system)

Puzzle Bobble (neogeo port) (not much point in posting AES and NGCD, they look the same aside press start instead of insert coin)

Puzzle Bobble (SNES)

Puzzle Bobble (Game Gear)

Puzzle Bobble (Wonderswan)

Puzzle Bobble (NeoGeo Pocket Color) (at a push, it's called Puzzle Bobble Mini and has different levels so probably doesn't count)

Puzzle Bobble (Gameboy) (also based on newer versions of the game, with route choices etc. same first level as NGPC one)

if anything the above 2 are based on the puzzle mode from Puzzle Bobble 2, at least that shares the same first level

there was also apparently a 3DO port (driver nowhere near good enough) and a N-Gage port (no driver exists)

of course there are a ton of other variations etc. but they stray too far from being 'Puzzle Bobble' to include. You can already see how the ports start to derive from the original, or borrow mechanics from later games in the series due to being released much later.

Bust-A-Move (Puzzle Bobble) was also released for the Sega Genesis, but it was a Sega Channel exclusive, so it might be lost.

Is there any evidence to back this up? That's the first time I've ever heard such a claim made. As not to interrupt this thread, start a new one?
