Hi,
This is not a question about the games. I believe I read that an agreement for the implementation of LD games has been made (I am sorry if this is incorrect) and I am interested in its implementation. I want to be clear, I am only interested in a technical perspective and I am not interested in moaning about things =) . Will the resultant CHD's mean a format change for all CHDs or is the format the same? I am interested in this implementation (from a technical perspective) but am no expert, is there anywhere I can go and read about how this is going to be done/what is decided? Theoretically, with the correct hardware, could the process be reversed (if such a thing existed)?

There is no agreement on data format or anything else at this point. There is an approximate agreement on what hardware to do the captures will look like, and even that's not yet final.

It is expected the data format for LD-CHDs will change at least somewhat as a result of this; there's no reason CD-ROM or hard disk CHDs would be changed.

Still hope to see the CD-ROM ones changed one day.

Please do not discuss that topic here or I will become very angry. I laid out how people can make everyone happy on that thread and nobody's lifting a finger, including Those Who Claim To Care A Lot, so I now consider it a dead issue.
