firstly thanks to smf, duddie, arbee and oliver for putting the zinc changes into mame. Now atleast i can 'see' tekkentag on my pc smile . I know the protection is partially emulated. I checked tekken tag with 104u5 and the intro video colors are wrong, is it the incomplete emulation of the protection or just my video card (GeForce FX5200). BTW smf, Who did you point to as the 'encryptin fairy'? smile .

Anyway Its cool to see the characters in football shapes :p .

I didn't notice any problem with the video colors, and the encryption fairy is anonymous for DMCA/EUCD reasons.

Here are some snaps that show how the intro vid looks on my pc, strange that only i am getting wrong colours, may be these snaps would solve the mystery smile , there are a total of 5 snaps the first 4 are from the intro vid, the last one is an ingame snap (just to show that ingame colours are OK like everybody else).

Snaps: http://s45.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0SFDF1IFHMR0R1GVZIIN3RXYEU (57 KB - 5 Jpegs

P.S. in the last snap (#5), one can see the whole game screen is sorta off-set/misplaced, i.e the P2 life-bar isn't fully visible where the whole screen is supposed to be center-aligned, is this some emulation prob too? or the PCB displays it the same way?

Arbee: I guess DMCA is some kind of encryption format or technology, anyway i was asking about the encryption fairy, being pointed in this post by smf:

"....Sorry Guru. I couldnt resist it, Ill get back to what I should be working on right now.
In case anyone is wondering, it isnt playable. Hopefully the encryption fairy can start looking at the real hard stuff now."

To AbbasJin,

The problem is due to you not being able to see Ultra Violet light like the rest of Us!!!

Furthermore, the DMCA is not a protection format... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMCA

But this is a more accurate description of how the DMCA works http://www.campchaos.com/show.php?iID=232

Sorry for bringing this up again - tested TTT on u5 and it seems the colours are indeed different. Red and blue are swapped in the intro. Lee's outfit is blue and Kazuya's face should be reddish (as in redder than normal!) at the end.

As it probably won't be looked at on mametesters as the game has the GAME_IMPERFECT_GRAPHICS flag, I noticed in Tekken 2 the intro video saves a screenshot at 512x240, which looks 2x stretched, although 512x240 is the actual screen size in gameplay. Although it might be different, the PSX version's arcade MDEC is 256x240, as is Tekken 3 and Tag's intro on System 12.

I noticed it on most of the mahjong games too, where the driver says 512x240 (try nbmj8891.c) the game saves shots at 512x480. It does save me from resizing them though!

No, you're not. Otherwise you wouldn't keep mentioning it. I've got a fix but I'm going to do some experiments to see if it's correct. I didn't realise that the intro to a non working game was such a big deal.

snaps need to be stretched to 4:3 when viewing. Thats not news, MAME never stretches snaps to the correct aspect ratio.

This is *not* MAMETesters and we do *not* accept MAME bug reports here, let alone for drivers with GAME_IMPERFECT_GRAPHICS. I'm gonna start deleting posts by people not named "Lost" if this keeps up.
