Hey guys,
I've been testing the GRiD Compass 1101 emulation, am honestly very impressed, and I never thought I'd be using a Compass again, even in emulation.
I've been able to use the 2102 portable floppy.
The 2101 hard drive wants to work, but it looks like the format command is not implemented. I think if I could get the disk images I have here into a serviceable format, it would work...
Who's working on this? I would like to help get this working so that those who can't spend $10,000 on an eBay Compass can actually do stuff with the unique operating system (of which I spent time in contemperaneously both as a user and developer)

When using the grid2101_hdd with a blank CHD of CHS: 307/4/17, Media Partition is telling me that the disk size is 4 cylinders.  ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/q3yASdg.png)

Who is working on the Compass emulation in mame? I would like to work with them to try and get it usable enough to use the CCOS development environment.

Grid was submitted by external contributors. The main one I don't think has contributed since then so nobody really "owns" the driver.

Ok.  Is it possible to prevent ALT-ENTER from flipping between fullscreen/window? I need that key combo for confirming actions, and if I run MAME enough, I eventually get GLX BadDrawable exceptions when the window flips between fullscreen/window. -Thom

You can remap that in Input Assignments (General) -> User Interface. It's "Toggle Fullscreen" near the bottom of the list.

-Thom I wrote the original skeleton driver and others have massively improved it. They may respond to you eventually, I am no longer working on it.

TSCHAK, probably the best thing at this point would be for you to write up a comprehensive list of what, specifically, is currently missing or wrong with the driver, as well as a list of resources for things like manuals, schematics if available, and so on.
That way, if some random person is interested in looking at the driver but not terribly familiar with the Compass itself, that hypothetical person would know what needs to be addressed.
