I found another thread that asked about looping PSFs indefinitely and the answer was something about modifying the the tags using a tool.

Is there a way to do that with all different file types? I've tried Googling but have found nothing definitive.

Right now AO will play a file through a couple times then fade it out and move on to the next one in the playlist, but I would like to get files to loop without stopping (SPCs as well as files for Genesis and other systems)

Thanks

SPCs should auto-loop, as should most VGM tracks when the "Loop VGM Tracks" setting is checkmarked in the Settings tab.

Thanks so much for the reply. I've been waiting a while for someone to get back.

I don't see a Settings tab anywhere. This is what it looks like for me. (Windows 8 64-bit)

Unless there is some kind of tag in the actual music file itself, but I don't know where that is either.

You can't loop SPCs beyond their tagged length, that's a limitation of the current player.

Is there a way for me to change the file's tags?

And was that ever a feature of the player? If so, is there an older version I could get that has that capability?

Ahhh...I had forgotten about the Windows version of AO. RB had put that into the OS X version but I guess that never made it to the Windows version. frown

There's an embarrassment of riches on Windows for SPC playback; I think most people use Foobar2000 and some plugins. AO exists on Windows basically because I could do it, not because it's better than e.g. a fully loaded Foobar2000 setup. It's not like on Mac/Linux where it's often the only option.

I actually have Foobar2000 and use that as my main music player. I had not idea it could play SPC as well. I am going to give it a whirl and see if I can get it to play music on a constant loop.

Thanks for all your hard work, Mr. Belmont!

http://kode54.foobar2000.org/ has a bunch of good VGM-related plugins for Foobar2000.
