Were the Select-A-Game carts dumped electronically? I think ranger_lennier owns all the 6 carts, you could ask him to loan the remaining 3.

Yeah, they were electronically dumped... One of them (Football I think) is a different chip that Kevtris wasn't sure if he could dump yet or not (but he has the cartridge).

Pac Man and Basketball I can send out to him, and re-send Space Invaders if he doesn't still have it. I have spares of all of these, since the stickers have to be peeled up (which is noticeable) I'm not sure if someone would want to do that with their collectible ones...

I should probably send another round of VFD games to Kevin anyway... Been too quiet. smile

If you have spares and can send them that would be great and probably easier too smile Assuming kevtris isn't too busy to dump them these days that is.

Did you ever scan the overlays Rik? Any chance of doing that if you didn't yet?

I got this today. Best packing job ever; wrapped in tissue paper, stretch wrapped, wrapped in bubble wrap, in a nice box with paper, and they built cardboard cross supports! The last hard drive I bought wasn't packed this well.

The batteries are leaking a bit but it doesn't look like they damaged anything.

Space Invaders, Baseball, Pac Man and Pinball are on my site here:
http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Entex/SAG.htm

Click on the cartridge/box images at the bottom, that will link to 300dpi .TIF images of the overlays for those games. Still have to do the other two...

Hap, who has connection issues, tells me to say that for the speech+ the speech chip is decapped on pr0n and the speech rom is also dumped. What's needed is a dump/decap of the TMS chip.

It seems I was IP blocked(banned) for a few days, along with some other forum users. Some people are still blocked so it's not fixed completely yet frown

@Rik try emailing kevtris regarding sending more VFD games for dumping?
For Select-A-Game, first check which MCU is in it, I don't think he's able to dump the TMS ones.

yeah I dumped the mask ROM on the tsi calculator for the speech and 7 bits of the CPU. Interestingly the CPUs were very old (76/77 I think) but protected. The calculator itself runs off of around -12V or so- generated by a small potted DC-DC converter. The speech ROM is super weird too and I believe I needed pullups or pulldowns to get the data out of it. It would've been pushing the limits of technology at the time, for a 4K or so ROM like that.

re: rik's handhelds- I still have several including the select a game that I must've generated a bad dump of. One of the games he sent has a TMS chip in it that's wired in very weirdly so it's hard to remove it, since they sky wired transistors in to drive the VFD or something. I have been wanting to dump amidar, and I believe I can but I cannot quite figure out the pinout. It's the same family as frogger but the chip is a 52 pin SDIP. I made a 52 SDIP to normal DIP adapter to help with debug/reverse engineering but haven't soldered the chip down yet to do any work.

There's the original one by TSI, and a blue one by APH. Which one did you dump? or both? Could you share the dump(s)? smile
