I was looking through the MAME source and I saw Conic Basketball hadn't been emulated yet. I got that almost a year ago and dumped the ROM, but didn't upload the info - oops. It is the same chip as in Tandy Sports Arena, but that one has an additional switch to select between Basketball, Hockey and Soccer.

I'll need to remove the LED panels to get clearer shots of the PCB fronts, but I'm going out in a few minutes and don't have time right now. Let me know if you need that.

I got Cardinal Basketball today and was glad to see it didn't also have MP0168! It's MP0907, but the PCB is very similar to Tandy Sports Arena, using the DS8871. R0 is tied to K1, so I bet it's also a 3-in-1.

I also got Bandai Missile Invader, but was disappointed that it has the same HD38136 as Tandy Space Shot. SS uses a mirror but MI is direct view. Actually, SS has a 38136S and MI has a 38136A. I'm not sure if that's a ROM revision or some other indicator. Most of the HD3813x chips have no suffix, but Tandy Golf and Space Shot have "S".

The backside of the LED PCB is fine too, since you can still see the LED locations.

Does Cardinal Basketball PCB have the Conic brand too?

The Cardinal Basketball PCB has the text "CONIC 101-006". Its LED PCB has "0168A". I'm not sure if that's just a coincidence, or if it's referring to the MP0168 in the other basketball game. This LED panel is 6 across and 5 up, without the 3 extra LEDs, though.

MP0168 ROM verified, added to MAME and playable.

It looks like they sold Ice Hockey and Soccer separately too, I hope it didn't leave too many customers unsatisfied with the gameplay similarity :P

I put up a bunch of recent die shots here: http://seanriddledecap.blogspot.com/

I posted the Cardinal Basketball info: http://www.seanriddle.com/tms1000.html#cardbasket

And the ROM and PLAs for Tandy Cosmic 1000 Fire Away. That's one of the VFD's that Kevin digitized and described the hardware for: http://www.seanriddle.com/tms1100.html#tandycosmic1000

Great =)
I verified the ROMs(msb) and prepared the PLA files. I'll work on emulation later this week.

good work on the cosmic 1000 fire away. I was going to send my chip in but I see that it's been done. I have a cosmic 3000 fire away too that from what I recall has a TMS1xxx on it.
