I have decapped and posted some pics of a GI AY-3-8800-1 that LN sent me. I have an AY-3-8500-1 from my own Hanimex 777 pong game that I got for Christmas '76 or '77 (it was B&W and didn't have the gun). The case and PCB are gone, but I still have the IC and potentiometers. I've been meaning to decap the chip, but just haven't gotten around to it. I couldn't find any die shots with a quick Google search, so I'll do it in the next few days.

Cool, I just got an Ajax TG-621 really cheap, like USD30 or so. Problem is right now that none of the analog TV:s I have will tune to it correctly, the auto scan just misses it. I need to buy a TV set with a tuner knob I guess Or maybe the tuner has gone bad. As it has its own speaker I can hear the pong sounds when it is in auto serve mode so it works. I'd be happy to hook the Ajax up once we have a working 8500, I just don't know how to get there from the die pics.
Because I can

I posted a pic of the AY-3-8500-1 die: http://seanriddledecap.blogspot.com/There's a little plastic stuck on it that I'll clean off with nitric acid when it gets warmer. Then I'll whink it to remove the top metal layer. I have a much larger pic (17K x 18K pixels) for anyone who needs it.

I got a cheap G&W Donkey Kong Jr, should currently be on the way to sean's secret laboratory. Of the lcd handheld games I remember, this one was my favourite.

Cool! I finally got around to dumping those 8" floppies that came with the COP400 Product Development System docs: http://www.seanriddle.com/cop400pds.htmlSo I'll jump back on the Sharp SM5. IgorRus gave me info on how he dumped the Soviet version, and I'm hopeful that will work on these.

Three more: Castle Toy Co. Einstein (Simon clone) has a COP421, so that should be easy to dump. Tandy Baseball has a PIC1650A- maybe I can dump this one; I know Kevin can. Atari Touch Me has an AMI chip labeled C10745. I haven't checked the pinout yet to see if it's standard or custom. This is from a long while ago, so I won't bite you if you can't remember. Is the C10745 chip from another version of Touch Me?(older?) The one you dumped was a PIC1655.

Yeah, I've got 2 Atari Touch Me games. They both look identical except for the color. Both are labeled "Model BH-100" on the back. The PIC version is yellow, while the AMI version is orange. The PIC PCB says Model BH-100 GI CO13233 Rev 2 Atari W 1979 (the W is the Warner logo) and the AMI PCB says Model BH-100 C013150 Rev 6 Atari (no W) 1979.

I added basic support for PIC1655 and PIC1650 MCU cores and started working on the PIC16 handheld driver. added/playable so far: - Ideal Maniac - Lakeside Le Boom - GAF Melody Madness - Atari Touch Me screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/T1KJEI'm currently working on Tiger Rocket Pinball. There are no videos on youtube of this handheld. Can someone make a recording? *edit* same goes for Tiger Half Court Basketball/Sears Electronic Basketball.

Thanks! Since I can dump the PICs electronically I didn't decap them, but I'll have to put the games back together. I should be able to post some vids tonight. I got the DK JR and pinned out the switch connections. I need to build a rig to figure out the LCD pinout. I'm not sure if it has an SM510 or SM511. I assume SM511 because the piezo is only connected to one pin, but I don't hear a melody while playing the game. I also got a Radio Shack Think Fast, but it's got a glob, so I'm guessing it'll be an unknown processor like Lights Out has. And I've got a Quiz Wiz Challenger coming. I'm adding links to full-size die shots: http://seanriddledecap.blogspot.com/
