External artwork would be better/easier for this. SVG screens are for screens, they don't support inputs. You'd want to be able to click on the buttons and have them animate on press.

Thanks Hap, this Mario Bros. case is great and will provide a good start. Vectoring started...

I have vectorized files for Donkey Kong (DK-52). Created at the beginning of the century for an online game project. Would those files be of interest?

Would be cool to see vectorized overlays for dkii since that game is otherwise playable and scans are available

Really cool job Rob! Donkey Kong is my all time favorite G&W game and I fortunately still have mine in good shape. If you can please, share the vector files here with us. It would be nice to have the scanned images of both sprites/backgrounds/foregrounds as well, if you still have them.

P.S> The Mario Bros. case is almost done, I guess I will finish it tomorrow. I just hope we can actually use it one way or another though.

The files are inside an old backup in Macromedia Director format, so they require some TLC to export out in svg or other current vector format. They were originally designed in Macromedia Freehand. I don't have the original hi-res bitmap images, only two lower resolution images which were used as a location reference for individual vector elements. Note that these are from actual developed film negatives which were then scanned in a (at the time) pretty expensive film scanner... that's how old these files are. cool

Oh they did a 3d effects on this.
Dark red orange out.
Light red orange middle.
Black under of the both red orange colors.

Just can't tell where the buildings is at. Back or on the plastic?

Hey Rob, did you do your vectors over these low-res images? if so then you are very, very skilled!! smile

And here's my MARIO BROS. vectored case (the grey area of the screens will be transparent of course to fit the currently emulated screens):

The animated red button press can be achieved by turning the button upside down, so the shadow will always be raised on the opposite side of the direction pressed.

I posted scans of the G&W Donkey Kong Jr and Mario's Cement Factory cases: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwwdEMgyry4DU0NlaEF4aUhkYU0

These are pretty scratched up.
