I'm currently running QMC2 v0.186 on openSUSE Leap 42.2 with MAME 0.186. I'm currently trying to set up a CHD hard drive which already has GS/OS 6.0.4 installed using the Apple IIGS (ROM03) emulator, but when I go to QMC2 and change the slot option for one of the expansion slots to the Apple II SCSI card, I'm not getting an entry in the Device Mapping tab for any sort of hard disk drive. Furthermore, even if I save the configuration with the SCSI card in the expansion slot, when I change to another system in the machine list, when I return to the Apple IIGS entry, the SCSI card is no longer associated with the expansion slot I assigned it to.

I was able to get this working in previous versions of QMC2. Am I missing something? Has the behaviour of QMC2 changed recently with respect to slot options and the associated device mapping?

There has been a major change in MAME 0.186 that currently prevents QMC2 from finding out slot-options dynamically. Lets simply say the way this has to be done now is "completely" different than before so I need to reimplement this stuff. That's on top of my priority list but it will take a few weeks probably, I just need to find a long-enough slot of free time to do it smile. Software-lists should work fine, though (and I'd recommend using SLs anyway, if possible).

This thread has more information (a Python-based reference implementation from Vas) : http://forums.bannister.org//ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=110489#Post110489

We're searching for QMC2 translators and support for existing translations. Interested? See here!

Thanks for letting me know. The new implementation provided by Vas looks neat, but I can understand that it'll take time to get it working in QMC2.
