Here´s a quick attempt on vectoring dj-101 background with Corel´s quick trace. I know it is not good by a long shot but at least it´s somewhat faithful and can be used until a proper vector surfaces:

IMHO Nightvoice has dibs on this, let's have some patience. http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthread...ded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1

He is not having time to do these, he said it himself and it may take forever to do a single game. I'm for using something now until something better comes to replace it. I will redo it in Illustrator and post a better result here later.

And I'm also quite finished with Donkey Kong II backgrounds/foregrouds, which are not being done by anyone AFAIK.

At least tell him on Mameworld that you're taking DJ101.

No, I will let him finish that one, which will get a lot better than this rushed version. I have no spare time to do everything myself, I only did this because he told that he has not much time to work on it these days and I tought that having something now is better than a white background, and this can be replaced with Nitghtvoice's version as soon as it is finished (I have no problem with that at all). I give my permission to erase this rushed DJ101 background to put his one in this game when its done.

EDIT: It seems that I forgot to erase the white spots and make them transparent, so this DJ101 background is pretty much useless at this point. Forget about it.

Meanwhile, here are the ones I've completed for DK II so far. These are completely transparent and ready to go into the emulation:

The other two are on the way.

That doesn't matter, white on white is invisible. It's not a dual-layer like Donkey Kong 2.

And here are the other two foreground images for Donkey Kong II, this one is now complete, at least until someone does it better:

And now I'm going back to vector the cases.

A simulation with the vectored layers in place inside the vectored DK II case:

Here is the final dj101 vectored case with the preliminary background in place:

These will be submitted to Mr.DO soon.

And here is Mario's Cement Factory vectored case. This one was really tricky since the white plastic turned into an ugly yellow, but I managed to revert it back to white before vectoring:

Now I need more cases to vector. I really prefer Nintendo ones since they are much easier to do. Tiger and Konami handhelds have complex illustrations and they are out of my range at this moment.

I would love to do the Mickey&Donald case, so I need a High Resolution scan or frontal picture of this unit. The higher the resolution, the better will be the final vector. If you want to send a picture, make sure that the unit is opened to its fullest and take a very frontal/straight shot of it.

If you want to send me cases for yet unemulated games such as Oil Panic, Green House, Donkey Kong, Life Boat, Rain Shower or wide screen games such as Turtle Bridge, Fire, etc. please put a link to the image here and I promise I will do the best I can to do everything.
