That sound setup looks similar to Tiger Sonic, where one of the S pins is used for sound effects(at higher volume than music) What are the resistor values on S3 and R here? Oh, I forgot that the piezo is controlled by a transistor on the mainboard, so the resistor values don't matter here. Batman Forever is added and working. I emulated the SM512 already when I added SM511, but it was completely untested until now, fortunately it works well. 1 correction for rzbatforraw.bin: offset $C04, change $FF to $EF.

d'oh- that's the first bit I've missed in a while. My 2 algorithms weren't good enough in that case because that position has dark and light parts so it fooled both of them. I visually check as well, but also missed it....

Are you guys having trouble playing Mario's Cement Factory? Sometimes, Mario goes below the escalator platform without falling to death and sometimes, the platform is right in front of him but he goes through it and falls into the pit. I tested it on game B so IDK if it happens in Game A as well. I guess it started happening after the background graphics were inserted. Weird.

It works fine here. The issue you described is what happened before I fixed the romdump. Are you sure your MAME romset is up to date? The MCU ROM for gnw_ml102 CRC32 is: c1128dea

I got a Timex Data-Link 150S off ebay: www.seanriddle.com/datalink150sf.jpg www.seanriddle.com/datalink150sb.jpgI count 108 traces coming out from under the big glob. The back of the case lists 2 patents; 4,527,096 for the backlight circuitry and 5,488,571 for the data transfer technology. The '571 patent mentions the MC68HC05HG "including a timer, real time clock system, asynchronous serial interface, synchronous serial interface, LCD drivers, keyboard, switch and electroluminescent lamp outputs", but I haven't found any info about it. There are 4 smaller globs. Based on their location, I'm guessing one is backlight related and another is data transfer related. I'm sure at least one of the other 2 is a serial EEPROM. The photosensor and circuitry are mounted on a small daugherboard. Both PCBs are multilayer.

A fellow's going to be sending me a lot of handheld LCD games. The first batch had 3 tiger games- Altered Beast, Batman, and Ninja Gaiden. Here's the info for Altered Beast: http://www.seanriddle.com/altbeast.html

That's awesome, give him my thanks =)
Altered Beast is added and working. Funny that they managed to include multiple bosses.
